Mackenzie,

Wow - 8 months old! You are getting so big and doing so many new things! You are still not officially crawling with your belly off the floor, but you get around JUST FINE! It's hard to keep up and so much fun!

You are at the stage where you really like Mommy & Daddy and don't want us to leave you for even a second. You want to be held all the time (we are working on this!) and you don't like for us to walk into another room. You are not afraid of strangers and you smile and flirt with everyone!

You really like crawling after your toys and you still LOVE your bouncer. Nan and Pops got you a bouncer that hangs in the doorway at their house and you think you are SO BIG when you are in it! You can tell by the smile on your face how proud you are!

You have been eating Stage 3 foods and finger foods like wagon-wheels, yogurt melts, and cheese puffs. You have also eaten scrambled eggs, mashed potatos, and boiled noodles. You're drinking pretty well out of a sippy cup, but you still haven't figured out that you need to keep it tilted up far enough that you can drink what's in there!

You think it's really fun to stick out your tongue and blow which makes a funny sound and when we do it to you, you will do it back. It's so much fun (right now) to see you mocking us!

We love you more than anything!

Love,
Mommy & Daddy

Nonna is here!

Mar. 9, 2009

Nonna came to town for a week and Mackenzie loved it! She gots tons of clothes (like she needed any!) and much needed playtime! We were sad to see Nonna head back home, but we know she'll be back soon! We love and miss you Nonna!

Eggs - Yum!

Feb. 22, 2009

On this day, we decided to try some scrambled eggs since our growing girl needs her protein! Mackenzie played with a pot and spoon in the floor of the kitchen while I made her eggs and she thoroughly enjoyed that! I have video of her making lots of noise, but I'll have to upload that another day since Blogspot doesn't seem to do that very efficiently.

At first, she wasn't quite sure whether the eggs were a toy or food. Then, when she figured out that it was food, I'm not sure how she felt about that! But she got the hang of it and was gobbling them down in no time!

After our busy day of playing in the kitchen and trying eggs, Mackenzie was pooped and took a nap on Daddy, which made his day. He loves his girl!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Feb. 14, 2009

Happy First Valentine's Day Mackenzie!!! You had a wonderful day and really enjoyed your gifts! Mommy and Daddy got you this cute red teddy bear along with the book, "How Do I Love You?". You really enjoyed reading the book, but mostly you just liked biting the tag on the bear. :) We love you so much! We even got a short video (below) and it sums up just how cute you were all day!

Visiting

Feb. 3, 2009

We went to Red's to visit with Red, Jami, Ethan, Weepaw, and Uncle Trey. We ate DELICIOUS food and had lots of fun! Weepaw and Aunt JJ played puppets with Mackenzie and she loved it! The giggles that came out of this little girl were too cute. Uncle Trey let her wear his Hurley hat which I think he enjoyed just as much as she did!
