Yay! Mackenzie was SO excited to see her Daddy last night! He made it home just in the nick of time! She was eating her bedtime bottle and getting those heavy eyelids, but when Daddy came in to say hello she was wide awake and all smiles!
I think Matt was pretty shocked at how much bigger she got in just 7 days. She's even got more personality and is of course doing all new tricks!!
It was very fun to watch them spend time together - I know Matt missed her a lot.
Mackenzie,
Your daddy loves you soooo much! Words cannot express how much he missed you while he was gone. I was given strict instructions to give you kisses multiple times per day and let you know that those were special kisses from Daddy. You loved every bit of them!
You are so amazing and your daddy and I are so blessed to be your parents. We love you so much!

Mommy and Daddy

Laughing!!
First of all, Mackenzie, you are 4 months old today!!! Yay! You have grown so much these last few months and you get more and more beautiful every single day! You are so much fun to play with and I think you're really enjoying life! You love your phone rattle, tummy time on the floor, seeing Mommy and Daddy after a long day at daycare, bath-time, and snuggling before bed.
Not only is today important because you are four months old, but you also LAUGHED OUT LOUD for the first time AND rolled over from your back to your tummy!! I was hoping to catch the roll on camera and you actually rolled over by yourself in the living room when I went to grab the camera, but I got your second and third roll on video! Then, while we were telling Daddy about your big accomplishment (Matt's in NC for a furniture market), you laughed! It was such a special moment and I know Daddy wishes he could have been here in person, but I'm so glad he was on the phone and heard it for himself! We caught a little bit of the laugh on camera (my memory space filled up RIGHT when I needed it most!!) and I've posted it below.
Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you and we love you more than anything! God gave us such a blessing when He created you and we could not be more excited and grateful to be your parents. We love you Mackenzie!!!

Halloween Costume Pics
So, I may have jumped the gun (I know Halloween is still two weeks away!), but I just HAD to
get pictures of Mackenzie surrounded by pumpkins in her TOO CUTE Halloween costume! It took many, many hours to decide just what she should be for her very first Halloween and many failed attempts to win the costume on eBay, but I finally got one!

We took some great pictures at Aunt Erin's house!

She's an Octopus...and a HOT PINK one at that! :) We took her out to the pumpkins that her daycare is selling and she really did pretty good for it being so hot outside! She looks adorable and I absolutely love how the pictures turned out! Thanks Nonna for taking such awesome pictures!

Living it Up
Tonight, Nan came over to play with Mackenzie and eat spaghetti! It was very fun to share Mackenzie's new vocal skills! I got a cute pic of Mackenzie and Nan (see below) and I'm also adding some from this morning where Mackenzie showed off some more new skills!
Mackenzie,
We have been having SO MUCH FUN with you these last couple of weeks! You are doing new tricks every single day and we can't wait to see what you will do next. You are so amazing and so much fun to be around! Just this morning you realized that you could grab your feet! It was one of the cutest things you've done so far and I just had to get a few pictures! You're growing faster than Daddy and I can keep up with and we just love every minute! You're the best and we love you so much!
Love,
Mommy

Lazy Days
We lounged around and did pretty much nothing this past Sunday! It was wonderful and we really enjoyed it! Since I've been working, I feel like I am soaking up every second of the weekend. The daycare ladies have let it slip that Mackenzie has started laughing out loud. Since she's only done this with us once, this was very sad news!! So, needless to say, I am doing everything I can to make a mental note of everything she does...not to mention trying EVERYTHING to make her laugh! Here's some pics from our lazy day...

More Tummy Time
Mackenzie is starting to really enjoy tummy time! She is building her muscles every day and having so much fun! She can hold her head up really well, almost roll over from back to tummy, grab at things that she wants to inspect more closely, and she's also been practicing sitting up! Here are some pics of us hanging out!

Chatterbug
So, this is possibly one of my favorite moments EVER! She was so funny!! It was like she didn't even realize that she was making this noise!
Mackenzie, you are the coolest thing since sliced bread! I love you bunches! -Mommy
This is after I had taken 953 videos and she was TIRED of it! :)
Race for the Cure
Mackenzie attended her very first Race for the Cure Saturday!! My mom, Mackenzie, and I walked for my mother's mom, my Mimi! She is a survivor and we're so proud of her. It was wonderful to be out there walking for such a great cause and to be surrounded by so many supportive people. It felt really good to be part of such a large crowd - 50,000 this year! We walked with Mary and her mom and sister. It was so much fun to share this with the Gillin girls and the newly married Mrs. Crawford!! We love you girls!!
Mimi,
We love you so much! You're a beautiful, strong, amazing woman and I'm so blessed to have you in my life! I am proud to be part of such a strong line of women.
Mackenzie,
I am so proud of you for being such a good girl! You didn't fuss at all out at the race and you seemed to really enjoy it. You have an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother and I hope you always know how much they love you!

At 6 am, getting ready to head over to the Gillin's!

Three generations - all for you Mimi!!

The Gillin girls and Mrs. Crawford!

Mackenzie soaking it all in!

Sweet baby girl!!

Nice peace sign Mom!! :)

Rolling Over!
I just want to make sure I take a moment to make a note of things I don't want to forget!!
Last week sometime, Mackenzie laughed - or so we think. She was on the changing table with Daddy and when he asked her who the pretty girl was, I could swear she let out a giggle. The best part about this is that we caught it on video!! After playing it back 234,983,098 times Matt and I decided that it was indeed her first laugh! I can't wait for her to start doing it all the time!
Also, this past Saturday (Oct. 4), Mackenzie ROLLED OVER from tummy to back! I know it's the "easy" roll, but I am SOOO PROUD! The awesome news here is that this was also caught on video!! That, along with my cheering and freaking-out reaction is all recorded on video. How lucky are we?!?
Mackenzie,
You are the most amazing little person! Your personality is starting to come out and it's so fun getting to watch you learn and grow. You love your little phone rattle and when I hold it in front of you, you reach out to grab it.
You are holding your head up so well and looking around like such a big girl! You enjoy sitting up with help and you just recently realized that you have feet! Well, I don't know if you've noticed your left foot, but you really enjoy trying to grab your right foot when I help you to sit up! It's absolutely adorable and I never knew I could get so much joy from watching someone touch their foot! :)
You definitely know who Mommy and Daddy are and when we pick you up from daycare you are all smiles! You also love to smile and coo when we're putting you to bed. After we leave you alone to your sleep, you also enjoy smiling and talking with your turtle friend that sings lullaby songs to you.
My new favorite thing is waking you up in the morning because you are SO happy! You talk so much when we get you out of your crib and get you on the changing table!
Speaking of the changing table, we recently started you on some formula (Mommy just could not keep up with your growing appetite!!!) and the change in diapers is not something Mommy and Daddy are enjoying!! :)
I cherish every moment with you, Mackenzie. Your Mommy and Daddy love you sooo much!

Mommy

Bikini
October 5, 2008
We had a photo-shoot with Mackenzie on Sunday afternoon! Her Auntie Mary had gotten her this teeny-tiny bikini (her very first swim-suit) when Mackenzie was still in my belly and I just had to put it on her at least once! How cute is this?!?!

Of course, I had to get a nakey-baby shot! I love these!!
